Perfect peaceful location for the Bridge On The River Kwai - Don't want to leave

Very pleased with choosing this small boutique resort as our base when exploring Kanchanaburi and the surrounding area. It's brand new, right on the riverbank located among some large shady trees in a very natural setting and about a 5 minute walk to the famous bridge.
The service and attention to detail is what makes U Inchantree so pleasant. Rooms are fitted to a modern high standard ( even with an ipod! ) but with traditional Thai touches. I must say the bed is one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in.We particularly enjoyed sitting on the riverside terrace with a cocktail watching the sun go down behind the mountains trying to not think about the freezing cold British winter waiting for us after our holiday!
The small resort restaurant is also on the river with a nice selection of well prepared and delicious Thai and western dishes including a small continental breakfast buffet and cooked food plate service. Not your usual Thai breakfast fare. Scrambled egg with smoked salmon and egg benedict were on the menu. We weren't expecting that at all. You can eat breakfast anywhere at any time if you so choose even by the pool or in the open air lobby which is a first for us.
The staff were truly outstanding. Smiles and willing to help for anything. We had a wonderful trip down the river on our own private boat on their recommendation. The boat picked us up literally in front of the hotel! The GM greeted us personally on arrival and was always on hand throughout out stay making sure everything was fine.

We're about to check out this morning for the long trip back to the UK and really wishing we'd stayed longer. Such a lovely place.

We loved the U Chiang Mai. We had a deluxe room, which was spacious and very nicely decorated. There was even an iPod and speaker stand in the room with a good selection of music. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The staff are very helpful. Free wireless internet was reliable and reasonably fast.

The hotel was absolutely amazing! We have been on our honeymoon for a month and U hotel was the best by far. The hotel is beautiful, activities outstanding and the food fantastic but best of all was the outstanding staff. They made us feel like celebrities and made the trip fantastic. The comp. upgrade to room 105 was wonderful and we look forward to our next trip here!

Excellent holiday at U Chiang Mai – thank you to everyone for a wonderful holiday. We liked the bicycle tour and the delicious breakfasts (whenever, wherever) and the pool and the smiling staff best at all!!

Unique experience, personnel is very friendly and they make you feel like home.

Breakfast “whenever & wherever” is a great idea! We also enjoyed the Lanna style of the hotel very much and such services like ipod and fruits in the room. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We only missed a shower at the pool.

This was our second visit to U Chiang Mai and your hotel remains in my top 3 favourite hotels in the world. The main reason for this is how friendly, helpful your staff is in Chiang Mai. The hotel is wonderful too. Beautiful. Very comfortable and luxurious rooms. My (our) favorite feature of the U Chiang Mai is the staff. They are 5-star!!

Best hotel I’ve stayed at. Staff, Food, facilities are excellent especially liked the IPod 24 hr. check out and comfy bed, welcome drink and unlimited water is a nice touch.

Spa service was excellent. Tea-afterwards was excellent. Staff overall was excellent plus always willing to help, always smiling especially housekeeping very thorough and cheerful.
